Systems Engineer (various levels) – Storage/Backup Infrastructure
Relocation to UAE is a MUST - Salary ranges - £90,000 - £115,000

We are working alongside an exciting business in the Cybersecurity/AI space. They are looking to bring 3 new heads to the business:

Lead System Engineer (Storage & Backup)
Senior Systems Engineer (Storage & Backup)
Senior Systems Architect (Storage Solutions)

Each role will have similar responsibilities but separated by hands-on experience doing the role.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams to evaluate and select storage and backup technologies.
Perform capacity planning to meet current and future storage needs.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance storage infrastructure reliability.
Optimise storage performance and resource utilisation.
Improve monitoring and observability with the IaaS operations team.
Ensure storage systems are secure against cybersecurity threats.
Maintain comprehensive documentation.

Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing large-scale solutions.
Hands-on experience with storage systems from leading vendors like HPE, Dell, NetApp, and more.
Proficiency in Linux/Linux kernel/Redhat
Experience with object storage solutions and cloud-native backup solutions.
Familiarity with clustered/parallel file systems and containerisation technologies.
Strong knowledge of backup systems, disaster recovery, and data protection.ck.
Understanding of CI/CD principles and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Advanced programming and scripting skills in Python, Golang or bash.

Lead Technical Analyst An exciting opportunity to join one of our key clients within the Higher Education sector as a Lead Technical Analyst specialising in Microsoft 365 and cloud services. This role involves end-to-end implementation, operation, and security of Microsoft cloud-based solutions. Location: Hybrid/Chelmsford Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience. Responsibilities: * Manage and administer Microsoft cloud environments and associated tools. * Lead and coordinate the provision, operation, and decommissioning of ICT resources in line with IT architecture and governance. * Schedule and oversee maintenance activities, addressing issues promptly with minimal impact on operations. * Monitor capacity and performance of ICT services, reporting status and initiating actions to address shortfalls. * Develop, document, and promote standards, processes, and procedures related to your services. * Collaborate with security and technical teams to maintain infrastructure integrity and address security concerns. * Coordinate technical responses to major incidents, ensuring documentation and review of solutions. * Manage relationships with third-party providers, ensuring quality service and knowledge transfer. * Lead and motivate a team of Senior and Technical Analysts, fostering a customer-focused and high-performance environment. * Act as a key escalation point, addressing and resolving issues and complaints professionally. * Contribute to the development of IT strategies, policies, and standards, keeping abreast of industry developments. Skills Required: * Extensive experience managing medium-scale cloud services, including provider liaison and management. * Proficiency in managing Microsoft 365, EntraID, and related cloud services, with a solid understanding of integration with on-site infrastructure. * Strong knowledge of system security, data resilience, and performance monitoring. * Proven track record of leading and motivating technical staff in a high-demand environment. * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. * Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure, demonstrating strong organisational and problem-solving skills. * Familiarity with ITIL practices and enterprise architecture principles is preferred.
